School is in Full Flight at Richmor and Schenectady County Community College!

October 2005

SCCC Aviation Sciences students gather in front of Richmor Aviation at the Schenectady County Airport to kick off the Fall 2005 Semester.

SCCC's Aviation Science program intends to provide students with an A.S. degree in Aviation Science with a pilot (62 credits) or non-pilot (61 credits) option which will enable successful transfer into a baccalaureate program in the field of aviation. Accordingly, the curriculum provides a solid foundation of courses in aviation, with supporting instruction in composition, computer information systems, mathematics, social sciences, humanities, and physics. The pilot option provides students with substantial experience in actual flight training resulting in Private Pilot Certificate and Instrument Rating, a Commercial Pilot Certificate and a Flight Instructor Certificate in conjunction with their A.S. degree. Flight laboratories are provided by Richmor School of Aviation here at the Schenectady County Airport.

Richmor also has similar arrangements with Dutchess Community College and their Aviation Sciences prgram at Richmor's Poughkeepsie location.

Richmor Hosts Their First "Fractional Ownership" Meeting

By Lisa Litts

On May 12th, Richmor Aviation, Inc. hosted their first Fractional Ownership meeting at the Richmor Jet Center at the Dutchess County Airport in Poughkeepsie.

A group of 11 prospective share holders came together to discuss the purchase of a brand new Cessna 172 to leaseback to Richmor's Flight School in Poughkeepsie.

These prospects showed a great deal of interest, as a matter of fact conversation early Friday morning gave the idea that not a great deal of the attendees slept as brand new airplanes circled their minds in the night.

As a group there was conversation of the formation of an LLC, costs, write-offs, types of airplanes, instrument panels, flight hours, etc. The thoughts were moving throughout while the excitement was overwhelming.

As we all said our goodnights, we had 5 "lets move forwards," 4 that weren't able to attend (but couldn't see from the spread sheet how they could pass this by) and 3 additional prospects that want to attend upcoming meetings.

Think it's too late? It's not! Email with questions to Lisa Litts for more information on Fractional Ownership. -- Originally Published June 15, 2005.
